| Objective To determine whether tumor angiogenesis correlation with progression of colorectal carcinoma. Methods Microvessel counts (MVC) of 68 speciments resected from patients with colorectal carcinoma were investigated by immunohistologial staining with a monocolonal antibody CD34. The mean number of microvessels were counted in five areas under 200 times magnification microscope, and the correlations between MVC and clinical colorectal carcinoma were analyzed. Results MVC positiveness correlated to lymph metastasis ;liver metastasis, invasive depth; Dukes stage and the extent of differentiation, but there were no significant relations to tumor size; pathohistological typing and growth pattern. Conclusion (1) MVC in the verge of the colorectal cancer is an indicatrix of tumor translation. (2)MVC is also applied in the selection of postoperational chemotherapy. |
