To study the best way on the extraction of pigment from Lycium Chinese and its role of drosophila melanogastern life span and to provide evidence for Lycium Chinese wide development.Methods:(l)Using the survival material of Lycium Chinese juice, looking for the optimum extracting solution.The Lycium pigment was purified by thin layer chromatography (TLC) and column chromatography.A reversed-phase high performance liquid chromato- graphic method,colormetric Method,gas chromatography for p-carotene, carotenoids and ethyl acetate. (2) The drosophila melanga were divided into three experiment groups and one control group for being determined the effect of Lycium pigment on their life span, MDA, Lipofuscin. Results:(l)The optimum extracting solution: ethyl acetate,55℃,extracted 1 hour, continued three times, which can gain the highest yield about 6.9%.Lycium pigment including: p-carotene: 40.7mg/100g, carotenoids:3580mg/100g,the content of ethyl acetate: 31.05ppm≤50ppm(GB). Using petrolaum, petrolaum/ acetone (10:1, v/v), column chromatography, gained 78% carotenoids. (2)The 50% death time (DTso) in high dose group was obviously prolonged. Besides to low femal dose group,the difference of the average life span was not statistical.The average life span and maximun life span in low,middle and high dose groups were obviously prolonged. In experimental groups,Lipofuscin content were decreased.The difference of MDA was not statistical in all group. Conclusion: By experiment,gained the optium extracting solution in Lycium pigment,which has action on antiaging in some extent.
