Human beings must consume energy to maintain all kinds of complex life activities. During the exercise , human body, especially the skeletal muscle consume an increasing amount of energy. The primary way the body gains energy is through the oxidization of material, and Carbohydrate and fat are the main materials. 50^70 percents of the energy that body needs comes from Carbohydrates. During the exercise, Carbohydrate which supply energy by glycolysis and biological Oxidation has a close relationship with the exercise ability. Therefore, it is a significant and meaningful subject to study the relationship between Carbohydrate metabolism and exercise ability, especially the effect of the traditional Chinese herb on animals' movement and its Carbohydrate metabolism.Astragalus mongholicus Bunge(AMB),a traditional Chinese herb which is planted in HeBei province and so on, has been thought it is one of the best quality Chinese herb medicine for its effects such as reinforce vital energy to strengthen superficial resistance, detoxify and diuretic, ulcers on the shank and promote the growth of muscle, and replenish vital energy to reinforce the functioning of the stomach and the spleen. At present, the results of scientific researches have showed that AMB has more effects on anti-stress, anti-Oxidation, and anti-senility. So this research was devised to further testify the effect of AMB on whether AMB has an effect on improving the ability of Carbohydrate metabolism, recovery of rats after a persist swimming training, exercise of rats in different time and different weight, and find how to improve physical fitness in practice for body healthy exercises in all, especially providing a high quality sports nutrition tonic for competitive sports. Through the animal experiment, we can testify that AMB could improve the ability of Carbohydrates metabolism and has a obvious effect on recovery of rats' recovery after swimming training. Ten groups rats(the strain of Wistar) were used in the test: the first is the control group(C);the second is the control group treated with AMB(CA); the third is intermittent swimming training immediately after exercise group(Ii); the fourth is intermittent swimming training treated with AMB immediately after exercise group(IAi); the fifth is intermittent swimming training 3 hours recovery after figure group(Ir); the sixth is intermittent swimming training treated with AMB 3 hours recovery after figure group(IAr); the seventh is endurance swimming training immediately after exercise group(Ei); the eighth is endurance swimming training treated with AMB immediately after exercise group(EAi);the ninth isendurance swimming training 3 hours recovery after figure group(Er);the tenth is intermittent swimming training treated with AMB 3 hours after exercise group(EAr). In comparison with rats in intermittent swimming training and endurance swimming training, some rats with AMB and others without AMB, the parameter of liver glycogen, muscle glycogen, blood lactic acid, LDH,MDH were measured in the study in order to observe the change of rats' Carbohydrate metabolism during the swimming training and recovery after swimming training. The main results are following:1. Compared with that of (Ei), muscle glycogen concentration of (EAi) was significantly lower(P<0.05);and muscle glycogen concentration of (EAr) was markedly higher than that of (Er) ,even that of (EAr) was higher than that of (CA), which is called "overrecovery". It suggests that AMB can make muscle use more glycogen to supply energy, which helps muscle to supply energy during endurance swimming training.2.Liver glycogen concentration of (EAi) was lower than that of (Ei),and liver glycogen concentration of (EAr) was significantly lower than that of (Er)(P<0.05).It testifies that AMB can strengthen the capacity of endurance swimming training, which make liver glycogen be analyzed to supply for muscle to make rats recover more quickly. Meanwhile, the recovery of liver glycogen benefits from AMB.3. In comparison with that of (...
