Objective: To investigate the Anti-Free Radical efficacy of XQM and inflence in T lymphocyte subpopulation (CDs*) in peripheral-blood in chronic bronchitis mice, and provide data for explaining XQM's curative mechanism in chronic bronchitis mice and for further study and clinical practice.Methods: 66 healthy ICR mice including 33 male and 33 female were divided into two groups in random. Ten mice were the normal control group(Group A).The experimental group ,50 mice were administered ammonia to induce chronic bronchitis. Then they were divided into 5 groups in random according to their weights and each group had 10 mice including 5 male and 5 female. B was chronic bronchitis model group. C was higher dose XQM-treated group, D was lower dose XQM-treated group, E was positive control group, which was administered nucleic acid and casein hydrolysate composite oral medicine (NACH), F is XQM&NACH-treated group. All mice's lung tissues were HE stained. By pathological morphological examination, by taking count of the number ofmonocyte in bronchia wall, by using immunohistochemical method to detect the number of CD3+ cells in mice's lung tissues, and by statistical treatment and comparison, investigate the curative mechanism of XQM. Results:(1) Compared with the chronic bronchitis model group, the lung tissue HE staining results showed that the bronchitis inflammatory reaction was alleviated in different degrees, the number of monocytes was decreased in two XQM-treated groups and XQM&NACH-treated group.(2) Compared with the chronic bronchitis model group, the MDA in serum was decreased, the activity of SOD was increased significantly in two XQM-treated groups and XQM&NACH-treated group, and there was obvious relationship between the dose and the effect.(3) Compared with the chronic bronchitis model group, the total T lymphocytes (CDs4) were increased significantly in two XQM-treated groups and XQM&NACH-treated group.Conclusions:(l)Xianqi mixture has obvious curative effect on chronic bronchitis mice .XQM can alleviate the inflammatory reaction of chronic bronchitis and decrease the inflammatory cells.(2) After taking Xianqi mixture, MDA in serum of chronic bronchitis mice was decreased significantly, the activity of SOD was increased significantly. The results show that XQM has anti-freeradical efficacy.(3) After taking XQM ,the total T lymphocytes (CD3+) of lung tissue in chronic bronchitis were increased significantly ,and there was obvious difference after statistical comparison (p<0.01). The results show that XQM can strengthen the function of immunity system.(4)The results rationally explain the XQM's curative mechanism of chronic bronchitis, and provide new thought and scientific data for clinical application.
