Objective: To explore the relationships between clinical features and coronary angiographic characteristics in patients with unstable angina Methods: 119 consecutive patients presenting with Unstable angina were divided into five subgroups according to the clinical presents as following: rest angina, new-onset angina, aggravated effort angina, postinfarction angina and variant angina. Coronary angiography were performed and Angiograms were evaluated blindly for severity, extent, and pattern. Elevated serum troponin T(>0.1microg/L) and cardiac function were evaluated as well as.Results: (1) Single vessele disease was more common in new onset effort angina than in other groups (P<0.05), so did type A lesions. Triple vessele disease and type C lesions appeared more frequent in patients with rest angina (P<0.05). Type B lesions were more common in aggravated effort angina than in other groups (P<0.05). Total occlusions were found more frequently inpostinfarction angina than in other groups (P<0.05), the rate of type C lesions was also high. Intracoronary thrombus were more frequent in patients with postinfarction angina than in the groups of new onset effort angina and aggravated effort angina. (2) Triple vessele disease and complex lesions were found more frequently in patients with cardiac dysfunction than patients with normal cardiac function (P<0.05). (3) The rate of coronary thrombi, triple vessele disease and complex lesions appeared more frequent in TnT positive patients than TnT negative ones (P<0.05).Conclusions: Patients with rest angina showed more severe coronary lesions and they should be treated more intensively. Anticoagulation therapy should be emphasized to patients with postinfarction angina for more evidence of intracoronary thrombus. Patients with cardiac dysfunction and elevated serum TnT shared more multi-vessele and complex coronary lesions.
