Objective:To assess the prevalence of seborrhoeic dermatoses of Macau (SAR) adolescents and analyze its risk factors; the relationship between seborrhoeic dermatoses and dysfunction of enteron is also studied. Method:A questionnaire survey for the epidemioiogical information of seborrhoeic dermatoses was carried out in September and October 2001. 4633 persons aged from 12 to 20 of 7 middle schools were drawn out from 43 middle schools in Macau (SAR) by random and cluster sampling. The software SPSS 10.0 statistically analyzes the data. Results:In Macau adolescents aged from 12 to 20, the incidence rates of seborrhea, seborrhoeic dermatitis, acne, seborrhoeic alopecia, rosacea are 50.5%, 2.7%, 45.5%, 1.6%, 0.7% respectively. According to the results of multiple logistic regression, the risk factors of seborrhoeic dermatoses are age, dysfunction of enteron, summer, spicy and fried food, inheritance or life habit and androgen3level. The statistical results of dysfunction of enteron are P = 0.007, OR = 1.208, 95% C.I. of OR is 1.053 - 1.385.In addition, the number of male patients with formation of scar is higher than female patients; female patients have higher degree of influence on self-confidence and appearance by acne and its complications than male patients. There are 85.1% of the patients who choose to deal with acne themselves but not to appeal for treatment in formal organizations, the rate of formation of scar by own treatment is higher than by formal treatment, x 2= 11.888, P = 0,018. Conclusion:1.Seborrhea, seborrhoeic dermatitis, acne, seborrhoeic alopecia and rosacea are multifactor diseases; they are closely related to androgen level or androgen receptor.2.The dysfunction of enteron is the risk factor of seborrhoeic dermatoses. 3.1n Macau (SAR) adolescents, the fastigium of first incidence of acne is from age 12 to 14; it is suitable to provide sanitary education in this period. The patients should be treated in formal organizations to reduce the rate of formation of its complications.
