According to the traditional Chinese theory, the syndrome above appears because chemotherapy injures qi and blood, makes liver and kidney deficient, and thus causes yin deficiency, yang deficiency, qi deficiency and blooddeficiency. Correspondingly, the principle of strengthening the body resistance by supporting the healthy qi should be adopted, namely, invigorating qi of five zang, adjusting the balance of yin and yang, making the health recover. Physiological, biochemical, immunological and molecular biological researches have indicated many kinds of tonifying recipes combined with chemotherapy medicine can be used to heal tumor and this method has great effects on lessening the side effects, augmenting the benefits and supporting healthy qi to eliminate pathogenic factors. Tonifying recipe has the effects of adjusting endocrine system, neural system, immunological system and cardioangiological system etc, and it can elevate the curative effect.The major tonifying energy herbal medicines, ginseng and radix astragali respectively, can assist vital energy and enrich blood. Those two herbal medicines together can work stronger. At the same time, many researches have indicated they have capability of improving the activity of Mφ and raising the product of cytokine. The tonifying kindey recipe is the typical traditional Chinese recipe to tonify kindey. Ginseng, radix astragali added to the formula, which is named by Shuxia S, can not only reinforce the effect on tonifying kidney but also promote the transportation and transformation. The research of Shuxia S proves that tonifying kidney plus strengthening vital energy recipe could raise the immunity of aging mice and indicates the recipe isbetter than ginseng, radix astragali alone to improve the activity of natural killer cell and the expression of IL-12mRNA in spleen cells. In this study, the H22 tumor transplanted mouse treated by cyclophsphamide are made low immunity mice model. Further research is carried out to investigate the weight, the number of leukocyte, the activity of macrophages and natural killer cells, the activity of lymphocytes proliferation and the relative expression of IL-12mRNA.Methods: In this research, the mouse, whose weight are 20±1g, are randomly divided into four groups: the NS group (with 0.5ml sterile natural salt being injected into abdominal cavity, with 0.2ml distilled water being poured into stomach), the recipe group(with 0.5ml sterile natural salt being injected into abdominal cavity, with 0.2ml the recipe being poured into stomach), the CY group(with 0.5ml 2%CY being injected into abdominal cavity, with 0.2ml distilled water being poured into stomach), the TS+CY group(with 0.5ml 2%CY being injected into abdominal cavity, with 0.2ml the recipe being pours into stomach). The number of H22 tumor cell is adjusted to 6.25×106/ml, The tumor cells are transplanted in the armpit by 0.2ml one mice. On the second day, the medicines begin to be given once a day.
