Objectives: To investigate the change and significance of the ANP in the patient with SASMethods: According to the results of PSG, 90 patients were divided into three groups, according to the level of AHI, the normal group with AHI<5, the mild SAS group with 5≤AHI<20,and the middle and severe SAS group with AHI ≥20. The volume of ANP in the plasma taken at 6 o' clock in the morning from all the groups were measured through radio-immune way. After the treatment of NCPAP, the volumes of ANP in the plasma from the middle and severe group were measured again. Results: the volume of ANP in the mild SAS group is markedly higher than that in the normal group, and the volume of ANP in the middle and severe group is markedly higher than that in the mild group .ANP volume was separatedly 0. 173±0. 004ug/1,0. 212±0. 004ug/1, 0. 268±0. 003ug/l (P<0. 01 in all). After the treatment of NCPAP, the volume of ANP is decreased apprently, separately 0. 223 ± 0.001ug/1 and 0. 268±0.003ug/l (P<0. 01)Conclusion:As the AHI level increased in the SAS patient, the volume of ANP increased markedly ,and the volume of ANP decreased obviously after the treatment of NCPAP. This indicated that the measurement of ANP volume is a simple and reliable way to evaluate the degree and effectiveness of treatment for SAS.
