Objective To elucidate the possibility of survivin as a marker of diagnosis and investigation of bladder tumor, the expressions of survivin protein andmRNA in bladder tumor and non tumor were tested.Materials and Methods The tissue of 31 cases tumor patients (experiment group) and 24 cases non tumor patients were gotten during operations and cystoscopy in our department. The survivin protein and mRNA transcription circumstance of all specimen were test with imrnunohistochemical (IHC) and RT-PCR method, respectively. The results were analyzed by correspond statistic method. Results The positive rate of IHC of the experiment group and control group was74% (23/31) and 4% (1/24 ), respectively, x2 test P< 0.001. Our study suggested that some relationship existed among the tumor stage, grade and the IHC positive rates. The positive rate of the survivin mRNA of experiment group and control group was 90%(30/31)and 4%(1/24) , respectively, x2 test P< 0.001.Conclusion Our study suggested that the positive rate of survivin protein and mRNA was high in tumor than non tumor, So it was hopeful that survivin become one of bladder tumor markers as a tool of screening the high-risk group of bladder tumor or diagnosing and investigating bladder tumor.
