Objective: To explore difference and relationship in memory impairment with cerebral infarction, type 2 diabetes and hypertension. To study alteration and relationship between memory impairment and event-related potential(ERP) P300.Method:we select four group of patients in cerebral infarction, type 2 diabetes, hypertension and healthy control subjects matched with age, sex, education level and handedness. All subjects were examined with Wechsler Memory Scale(WMS) by one observer. Patients in cerebral infarction and healthy control subjects were examined with P300. Results: The memory scores of cerebral infarction, type 2 diabetes and hypertension patients were significantly lower than that of control group. Cerebral infarction gain the lowest score than the rest of patients and healthy controls. As compared with control group, the peak latencies of ERP were significantly delayed in cerebral infarction patients. And the amplitude of ERP were decreased in cerebral infarction patients. There was a correlation between memory score and P300.Conclusion: 1.All patients in cerebral infarction, type 2 diabetes and hypertension can induce memory impairment. And different diseases had different types of memory impairments. These can help to work rational plan of rehabilitation. 2.P300 can be used toachieve greater precision and sensitivity in cognitive evaluation in patients with cerebral infarction. If we combine P300 with the neuropsychological test maybe valuable in the evolutional assessment of memory impairment in patients with cerebral infarction.
