| Recurrence and metastasis are the commonest reson for the postoperative failure of oral squamous cell carcinoma. To promote the postoperative living ratio, we should study the cause and affective factors of recurrence and metastasis, and adopt effective prevention and cure step.Through reviewing study of 673 cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma who had been surgery in West China College of Stomatology,Sichuan University between January 1997 to Dec 2002, we draw a conclusion that the recurrent rate of oral squamous cell carcinoma is related with the factors such as sexual distinction,the growing pattern of the tumor, the metastasis of lymph nodes and the pathology grade.But the recurrence rate is not correlated with the age, the pathology location, the TNM stages, the threapy and the way we deal with the mandibular bone.We should analysis all the clinical pathology factors comprehensively, and evaluate the prognosis, thus we can do our clinical work better.Quite a few of the N0 phase oral squamous cell carcinoma patients died of recurrence and metastasis because of the micrometastasis. This study used the immunohistochemistry stain examine 12 casas postoperative lymph nodes and foundthe 3 cases whose lymph nodes had micrometastasis. From the result, we should evaluate the cervical lymph nodes of N0 phase oral squamous cell carcinoma comprehensively, thus we can evaluate the prognosis and the clinical stage accuratelly, and direct our clinical work. |
