Objective To compare the effect of extracellular ATP with NGF on Peripheral nerve regeneiatin to provide theoretical foundation for clinical application Methods The Silicone chamber for nerve regeneration was used after the Sciatic nerves transected of SD rats.1mmol/L ATP, 1mg/mL NGF and 0.9% natrium chloride was infected into the chamber respectively. The nerve regeneration in silicone tube was observed by naked eyes at2,8,12 weeks post surgery.Light rnicroscopicexamination electrophysiology examinationimage analysis and transmission election microcscope were taken at 8,12 weeks post operation Results The number of myelinated nerve fibres , the cross area of myelinated nerve fibres and motor nerve conduction velocity were significantly better in group A and Bthan that in group C. Conclusion Extracellular ATPcan promote peripheral nerve regeneration.Effect of extracellular ATP on peripheral nerve regeneration is inferior to NGF.
