Abstract/Summary:
Objective To study the value of follow-up after 131I therapy by observing the difference of thyroid weight, examinated by nuclear imaging and ultrasound measurement, and the alteration of Doppler blood stream score. Methods 35 cases clinical diagnosed Graves ' disease, nuclear imaging and ultrasound examination of thyroid weight were taken respectively on the day before treatment then some day 3 months and 6 months ago, compare the difference of seperative groups. Result (1) There is no significient difference of thyroid weight by the two measurement methods .(2) The percentage of decrease of thyroid weight has no correlation with treatment effect but has positive correlation with the dose of 131I .(3) Doppler blood stream score alteration did not parallel to the level of FT3 and FT4 .Conclusion (1) There is no significient difference between nuclear imaging and ultrasound examination ,so they can be replaced by each other .(2) The decent of thyroid weight is most obvious in l~3months follow-up and is tardy in the following 4-6 months. (3)The more dose is given ,the more descent of thyroid weight can be seen. (4)The alteration of thyroid weight is not relevant to the effect of 131I therapy . (5)Doppler blood stream score has some value in observing the effect of 131I treatment during the follow-up ,but need more investigation .
