Experimental Study On The Effect Of Traditional Chinese Herbs On Sexual Hormone Of Adult Ovariectomy Rats And Interaction Of Those Drugs

Object To study the effect of Morinda officinalis How. Psoralea carylifolia L. and Epimedium gradiflorum Morr on the adult ovariectomy rats and interaction of those drugs and the optimum combination. Method 48 SD female rats were divided into three groups at random, sham group (N=8) , model group (N=8) and experimental group (ovariectomy rats, N=32) . Positive group was subdivided into 8 groups (N=4) based on L8 (27) criterion of orthotonal design . Positive groups were given the same kinds of herb drugs (16ml/kg) with different dose 4 weeks after operation. Observe the change of E2. T, P, FSH, LH, PRL in blood and pathological change of endometrium . Result E2 in the blood of the adult ovariectomy rats was increased markedly by 13.2g/kg.d Psoralea carylifolia L or cooperation of 13.2g/kg.d Morinda officinalis How, 13.2 g/kg.d Psoralea carylifolia L and decreased by 6.6 g/kg.d Psoralea carylifolia L. Testosterone was increased obviously by 10g/kg.d Epimedium gradiflorum Morr anddecreased by 20 g/kg.d Epimedium gradiflorum Morr. Through microscope , Endometrium was found atrophia in ovariectomy control group and with different change in positive groups because it was affected by many kinds of hormone. But most of them were found proliferous. Conclusion (1)High dose Psoralea carylifolia L.has estradiol-like function. (2)Low dose Psoralea carylifolia L. can counteract estradiol-like function.(3)Low dose Epimedium gradiflorum Morr has testosterone-like function.(4)High dose Epimedium gradiflorum Morr can counteract testosterone-like function. (5)Cooperation of Morinda officinalis How. and Psoralea carylifolia L. has estradiol-like function and the optimum combination of the two kinds of drugs is high dose Morinda officinalis How. and low dose Psoralea carylifolia L.
