PrefaceThe kidney malignant tumor is one of the most common tumors in urinary organs, and ranks fourth in incidence among all kinds of body tumors. The kidney cancer account for so percent of kidney malignant tumor. Since most patients with the three - related - symptom, belong to terminal patients, It is important for us to detect and diagnse small kidney cancer( ≤3cm). soasto extend patients life span and improve the ratio of living. Multislice spiral CT can provide us high - quality MPR image because of its fast large - scale and high - resolution Scanning. MPR image can display small kidney cancer from different angles. During the injection of contrust for only once, MSCT is able to finish the three stage scanning perfectly , and show the feature of cancer during different stage respectively, as well as adjacency with kidney tissue, for the sake of securing diagnosis and operation.The aim of this study is to determine the value of MSCT in detecting small kidney cancer in prospective way.Material and MethodsWe Study 33 cases of small kidney canners, which are diagnosed and operated on in the 1st Attached Chinical hospital of China Medical University. Between January 2002 and March 2003.Age ranges from 31 to 82,with the arenge of 52.3. Toshiba Aquilion multi-slice CT scanner is used. Multi - Slice CT images were analysed by two seniorradiologists in blind way, and were correlated with outcomes of operation.RESULTSIn this study. All 33 cases of small kidney diagnosed with CT images are confirmed by operation. The accuracy rate is 100 %. Among the 33cases,clear cell carcinoma is the most common in 28 casec accounting for 85 %. renal ade-nocarcinoma in 3cases,granular in one case, papillary carcinoma in one case. 26 cases are male. Tare female in 33 cases. The ratio in gender is 3. 7; 1. All cases are lateral focus in kidney, with clinical symptom in 3 casesIn unenhanced CT images, small renal canner appear with high, low and e-qual a ttenuation. Most of them are low and uneven attenuation.Most of cases enhance briskll during the corticomedullary phase from them unenhanced attenuation and the attenuation decrease dramatically dwring nephrographic phase. Lymph node metas tas is and other organ metas tasis are not exist according to CT image and operation. There are not the invasion of adjacent organs the accuracy rate of CT diagnosis on out lirecharge. preudocapsul cystic growth pattern and haemorrhage are 95 % ,35.7 % ,87. 9 % and 94 % respectively.ConclusionMultislice spiral CT has increased both the scanning speed and the z - axis hesolution, and redued the noice, at the sametime has improved the accuracy of a ttenuation.It can complete the scanning of ridney in the peak time after the in jection of contrast materials for the three phases enhancerent, which contribute a lot to the diagnosis of small renal cancer.The MSCT increase the detected rate of small ren al cancer, and ley a solid foundation for diagnosis and the evaluation of...
