Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Premenstrual Syndrome By The Back-Shu And Front-Mu And Network Points Acupuncture

Objective: To research the clinical curative effect of acupuncture treatment on premenstrual syndrome. Methods: 42 patients were randomly divided into two groups. An acupuncture-medicine group, from the 14th day of ex-period in menstruation to menstrual day, received needling of GV20, CV17, CV4, SP6, LR3 and BL18, BL20, BL23, BL17, at the same time received medicine of the control group. The control group, from the 16th day of menstrual cycles to ten days, received orally everyday 6milligram medroxyprogesterone. All of them select the symptom mark, the dialectical type of the traditional Chinese medicine and the relation of the curative effect and clinical curative effect as indexes and analyze the results. Results: after 3 menstrual cycles, the total effective rate was 90% in the acupuncture-medicine group and59.09% in the control group. There was a significant difference in curative effect between the two groups (p<0.05). The results show that the acupuncture group was much better than the control group in reducing the symptom mark and improving the clinical symptom. Conclusions: the above results suggest that the treatment of acupuncture on premenstrual syndrome can improve clinical symptoms and balance endocrinic disturbance. Therefore, it is firmly said that acupuncture treatment on premenstrual syndrome is feasible, safe and scientific.
