In order to discuss the expression of MRP and LRP in primary ovarian epithelial cancer(POEC) patients who never received chemotherapy before operation and its clinical pathological characteristics and the prognosis,we tested 34 cases of POEC embedded in paraffin,17 cases of cancer obtained in second-look laparotomy and 14 cases benign ovarian tumor and 12 boderline ovarian tumor determined by SABC staining. After specimen got, make continuous slices of 5 micrometers with microtome. Glassslides are made into tissue slices after dealed with L-polylysine, then specimen are dyed with MRP and LRP antibodies, reading with microscope. Select 5 high diploid visual fields, take count of the numbers of sum of the tumor cells and positively dyed cells, and then get the percentage of positive cells. Ñ…2 test and Fisher precise probability were used to test the difference of positive percentage of the two groups,and survival rate was tested by longevity table. In benign tumor, boderline tumor, POEC and second-look laporotomy patients, the positive expression of MRP was 14.3%,41.7%,47.1% and 100%,the positive of LRP was 35.7,75%,79.4% and 100% respectively. The ratios of both tested proteins expression in POEC were much higher than that in benign epithelial ovarian tumor(p<0.01,p<0.01)); much lower than that in second-look laporotomy patients (p<0.01,p<0.05);showed no significant difference to the boderline tumors (p>0.05,p>0.05). The ratio of MRP expression in clinical stage â…¢/â…£ was 61.1%,higher than that in clinical stage â… /â…¡ which was 31.3%(2 cases in 8 of clinical â… and 3 in 8 of clinical â…¡),but showed no significant difference(p>0.05). The ratio of LRP expression in clinicalâ… /â…¡showed no significant difference than in â…¢/â…£(p>0.05).The ratio of MRP expression in low differentiation cancers was 68.4%,which was much higher than that in moderate and high differentiation cancers 20.0%(p<0.05);the ratio of LRP expression in low differentiation cancers was 78.9%,which showed no significant difference to that in moderate and high differentiation cancers 80.0%(p>0.05). The expression of MRP in POEC has no relationship to the age, histological type,clinical stage and ascites (p>0.05),but has correlation with differentiation of the tumor(p<0.05). The expression of LRP in POEC has no relationship to the age, histological type, clinical stage and differentiation of the tumor(p>0.05), but has correlation with ascites (p<0.05),which was consistent with the report of Cheng guo jun et al. The relationship of expression of MRP and LRP in POEC with the effect of chemotherapy: in 34 cases of POEC, the chemotherapic efficiency rate (complete remission and partial remission) for LRP negative and positive was 71.4% and 25.9% respectively, which showed much significant difference(p<0.05) and was consistent with the report of Xia qi and Izquierdo et al. The chemotherapic efficiency rate for MRP negative and positive was 72.2% and 37.5 % respectively, which showed much significant difference (p<0.05),which was different to the report of Izquierdo and need study more. The chemotherapic efficiency rate for both tested proteins negative and positive was 80.0% and 16.7% respectively and showed significant difference (p<0.05).The survival rate in 3 and 5 years was 58.70% and 37.23% respectively.The expression of either MRP or LRP was higher in the live than in the dead(p<0.05).So we could conclude thatâ‘ the expression of MRP and LRP could be induced by chemotherapy and result in drug resistance.â‘¡the expression of LRP in clinical stage â…¢/â…£ was similar to that in â… /â…¡,which indicate that the expression of LRP in POEC was invariable.â‘¢The expression of MRP in clinical stage â…¢/â…£ was higher than that in â… /â…¡, but showed no significant difference, which may have correlation with that drug resistance is the result of multiple factors and multiple steps.â‘£the chemotherapic efficiency rates of MRP positive group, LRP positive group and both positive group are much lower than that of negative group which indicate that...
