| The objective of this research is to study both the psychological health and the factors affecting the psychological health level of the soldiers in subtropics. The object of this research is navy soldier on warships in subtropics. All members are men, 17 to 26 years old. The author designed a psychological health survey scale by adapting a basic information survey scale and self-rating symptom scale to develop the social survey.Main research processes: According to the theorical analysis and social survey, this author referred to the psychological health self-rating symptom scale [M] and [J] by Xiangdong Wang, the editor-in-chief. The norm system concludes 136 indexes, which fall into four categories. 783 soldiers, who are 85 percent of the total in the subtropics, are involved in the survey made in late April, 2002. The auther mainly investigated the psychological health level during the military drill period. Conclusion: The comprehensive psychological health level of the surveyed group is above the military criterion and below the civilion criterion. The soldiers are easier to suffer from depressions and anxieties in the great military drill period than the normal period. The psychological level of the group from the only child family is inferior to the contrasted group. With the 15% increasing rate of only child per year, the psychological problems of the only-child soliders will become more serious. We should strengthen the training to soldiers from the north, and develop city soliders' spirits of bearing hardships and standing hard work. The culture character is an important factor affecting the soldiers' psychological health. The psychological health level of the noncommissioned officer group is lower than that of the soldiergroup. We need to pay special attention to the psychological health of the new soldiers and the noncommissioned officers. They are the high danger groups who may affect the military steadiness and safety. They need more guidance and instruction, so as to clear their psychological stimulating factors and avoid accidents. We should avoid the military strength decrease resulting from the psychological factors when recovering TaiWan. |
