Objective: To study osteogenic capability of rabbit bone marrow stromal cells(MSCs) and biological characteristical identification in vitro in order to explore the appropriate methods of osteoblast culture in vitro and to select an idea source of seed cells for bone tissue engineer. Method: Drived from the rabbit stromal cells of bone marrow from the trochanteric regoin of femur of rabbit and cultured the cells with special cultulal fluid in vitro.In about two weeks cells lined up in one layer.then cells were generated and their biological characteristic was examined by phase-contrast microscope , scanning electroncope, HE stain, ALP measure, type I collagen stain and caluaria fluorescent stain. Result: The rabbit bone marrow stromal cells cultured in this experiment survived well ,the biochemical indexes were stable ,and the cultured cells demonstrated a biological and morphologic charactristics similar to those of osteoblasts. Conclusion: To draw the material from bone is convnient in this experient,and the cultured osteoblasts show osteoblastic property,and can be used as a routine method of seed cells for bone tissue engineer.
