This paper presents a microcontroller system for target controlled infusion according to pharmacodynamic parameters of intravenous anesthetics. It can control the depth of anesthesia with adjusting the level of drug concentrations of plasma. The system has the advantages of high precision, extending power and convenience to apply. It has been used in the clinical anesthesia.Before, the doctor of anesthesia used the method of discontinuous and durative infusing drug. The two methods has shortcoming. The drug concentration of plasma is undulated by discontinuous infusing. The drug concentration need long time to steady state by durative infusing. In these conditions, it is difficulty to control the drug concentration of plasma. So it is very necessary to improve the method of infusing.This paper presents a system for target controlled infusion based on ATmegal28. This system includes ATmegal28, periphery circuit, memory, serial communication, liquid display. This system for target controlled infusion according to pharmacodynamic parameters of intravenous anesthetics has some characteristic:? The system auto computes according to pharmacodynamic parameters of intravenous anesthetics. It can availably control the depth of anesthesia with adjusting the level of drug concentrations of plasma.? The program of system is written by microcontroller's C language. It is designed with modular. It is convenient to update and expand function.? The equipment is small and steady.? The error between actual drug concentration and target drug concentration is under 20%.
