THESIS ONEEFFECTS OF BLOOD-ACTIVATING AND PURGATIONTHERAPY ON SEPSIS IN INTRA-ABDOMINAL INFECTIOUSPATIENTS:A CLINICAL STUDYOJbjective:This study focuses on investigation of clinical characteristic and outcome in septic patients induced by intra-abdominal infection,as well as the effects of Blood-avtivating and Purgation therapy on it.Method:40 samples of in-patients suffering from severe intra-abdominal infection were grouped under group A and group B according to incorporating shock or not after hospitalized. Each group were further divided randomly into general treatment(A1,B1) and combined general+Dan Shen Da Huang granule(A2,B2)-The clinical characteristic and variational level of plasma LPS,TNF were respectively analyzed in preoperative and postoperative variation of exhaust time. Results:About the break wind time in postoperation, the Chinese traditional medicine group(A2,B2) are earlier than control group(A1,B1)(p<0-01);while average defecation tmies within a week are more than control group(p<0.05);the probability of celiac accumulation and celiac abscess is lesser than control group(p=0.028,p=0.031);group 82's probability of postoperation intesrinal dysfunction and MODS is lesser than B1;but there is no significant discrepancy on mortality of each group. Conclusions: infection itself and Endotoxin translocation arised from gastrointestinal paralysis or gut dysfunction are one of the main factors result in promoting the progress from sepsis to MODS. Blood-avtivating and Purgation therapy can effectively improve absorption of intraabdominal infection and recovering of intestinal dysfunction.lt can reduce levels of endotoxin and improve clinical outcome.
