| Objective To intend to rise operation effect of sphenoid ridge meningiomas (SRMs).Methods The clinical data of 18 patients with SRMs were analyzed and summarized retrospectively.Result The clinical presentations of sphenoid ridge meningiomas were untypical in most patients. The diagnosis was based mainly on CT and MR images. Of 18 cases of SRMs, 16 were totally removed, 1 subtotally and 1 partially. No patient died postoperatively.Conclusion To apply an improved pterion approach of the operation and microsurgery technique could increase the rate of total resection; Appropriate operation about the important nerve structure and the blood vessel adjacent to the tumor during the surgery could decrease injure about patients` nerve function; Making every effort to resect the tumor totally. If the adhesion is severe and difficult to be separated, small piece of tumor tissue could be left, otherwise important nerve structure and the blood vessel may be injured. |
