At present, the research and development of pharmacokinetics of Chinese traditional and herbal drugs is domestically a hotspot. It is important significance in exploring the mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine and the scientific connotation, accelerating the improvement of new medicine and quality control increasing the speed of the traditional Chinese medicine to go of new medicine the world, and finally realizing the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine in China. In the present paper, the pharmacokinetic study of Yinhuang oral liquid in rabbits were performanced. The experiments were carried out in the fields as follows:1. RP-HPLC determination of baicalin in rabbit plasma and its pharmacokinetic study. RP-HPLC method was established to detect the plasma concentration of Baicalin in rabbits to study its pharmacokinetics after i.v. injection and oral intubation of baicalin.2. RP-HPLC determination of chlorogenic acid in rabbit plasma and its pharmacokinetic study. But the experiment result is that chlorogenic acid couldn't be detected in the rabbit plasma after oral intubution of chlorogenic acid.3. Study on pharmacokinetics of baicalin and chlorogenic acid in Yinhuang oral liquid. The results is that the two constituents couldn't be detected in the rabbit plasma after oral intubution of Yinhuang oral liquid.4. The metabolism of yinhuang oral liquid by intestinal bacteria. The emphasis is on the metabolism of baicalin by intestinal bacteria. Results : baicalin was decomposed easily in vitro by rabbit intestinal bacteria, and consequently two main metabolite ,one is baicalein (it has been reported),and the other one is baicalin's isomer. And at the same time, this isomer was detected in the rabbit plasma after oral incubation of baicalin. It may be an active metabolite.
