Ojective To discuss the endothelium dependent vaso-dilatation, prethrombotic state and the relationship of both with essential hypertensive patients. Methods With high-resolution ultrasound flow induced dilation of the brachial artery (FMD) was measured in patients with essential hypertension of grade I (n = 20) ,grade II (n = 20) and 20 health person of control group . Serum nitric oxide( NO )and Plasma Thromboxane B2 (TXB2) , 6-K-PGF1a of three groups were assayed at the same time. Result The patients with essential hypertension of grade I (n = 20), grade II (n = 20) had significantly higher levels of plasma TXB2 and had significantly lower levels of FMD, serum NO, plasma 6-K-PGFla than control group (P<0.05) . TXB2 in patients with hypertension of grade II was found significantly higher than that in patients with hypertension of grade I (P<0. 05 ) . FMD, NO and 6-K-PGFla in patients with hypertension of grade II was found significantly lower than that in patients with hypertension grade I (P<0. 05) .By correlation analysis,Plasma 6-K-PGF1a was positively correlated with serum NO and FMD (r = 0. 762, r = 0. 471, P<0. 05) . Plasma TXB2 was negatively correlated with serum NO and FMD (r=—0.626, r=—0.451, P <0. 05) .Conclusion Essential hypertensive patients had endothelium dependent vasodilatation dysfunction ,platelet action , which may be the pathogenesis of complication such as ischemic stroke .heart attacks . These findings might help identify hypertensive patients who are at increased risk of cardiovascular events.
