Objective To discuss clinical application significance of Argon-Helium cryotherapy system(AHCS)treating huge hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) with diameter over 10 cm. And find a pilot therapeutic alliance with safety and utility. Method 26 HCC patients had been treated with AHCS(CryocareTM Surgical System) after TACE between July 2003 and March 2004. Tumor size range from 10 to 14 cm. Hypervascular 22 cases and hypovascular 4 cases. Child A 20 cases, and Child B 6 cases. AFP positive 22 and negative 4. Reexamination including pathology ,tumor marker, T-lymphocyte subgroup, ultrasound , computer tomography , MRI , NRS pain evaluation and EORTC QLQ-C30 life quality evaluation . Results Technicial success rate is 100% . Follow-up time varietied from 6 to 32 weeks.Average neoplasm necrosis rate is 7.5% after TACE, and 25% after AHCS.
