Background: Reproductive tract infection (RTI) is a frequentiy-occyrring disease that seriously harms physical and mental healh of people of childbearing age . It also hinders enforcement of contracepation measures. RTI, STD, HIV/AIDS hurt infants health , and even affects social and economic development. Purposes: Approach a way of comnining control of RTI, STD, HIV/AIDS with daily reproductive heatlth service, and work out an appropriate RTI,STD, HIV/AIDS intervention scheme. Through qualitative investigation over people groups of different characteristics in Luxi City and Longchuan Coynty, realize their knowledge on reproductive health and majior local factors affecting RTI, STD, HIV/AIDS.Methods: Program Guidance Tool (PGT) is a tool helping to determine the leading intervention scheme for RTIs . analyzed social, economic, cultural, custom, and religious factors that have influence on RTI epidemic, use of condom ,and behavior of seeking medical treatment, and offered a foundation for stipulation of intervention scheme. Adopt methods of individual interview and group discussion to make qualitative study over people groups of different characteristics. Attach ourselve to observe reproductive health service institutions at all levels in the project sites:personnel, equipment condition. Results:the project sites suffer from serious epidemic of RTI, STD,HIV/AIDS. Local people have gravely poor knowledge on reproductive tract health and only low propotion of them inclines to seek medical treatment. The medical institutions in project sites have well-qualified medical workers among all the medical institutions at the city and county levels .They have certain techician strength , equipment. Personnel with most of the township-level medical institutions have incomplete medical knowledge and the institutions are with backward equipment. Generally, service suppliers have incomplete konwledge on RTI, STD, HIV/AIDS, Rate of konwledge renewal and upgrading is slowly. There are not effective inspection and quarantine system focusing on transnational fact marriages.Suggestions:Change local people' s backwardness in konwledge, attitude, and behavior on reproductive tract health and bring local serious epidemic of RTIs, STD, HIV/AIDS upon cooperation of several local departments.
