Objective: To explore the characteristics of genograms and family dynamics of the children with behavioral problems. To research for the relationship between children's behavioral problems and their families in order to provide theoretical bases for intervening children's behavioral problems. To make perturbation in the families in order to change children's behaviors by applying techniques of systemic family therapy in order to provide practical bases for intervening children's behavioral problems. Methods: 590 parents of 276 pupils in the 4th grade of Mingtong primary school in Kunming were tested with Achenback Child Behavioral Checklist. 310 pupils in the 4th grade of this school were measured with the family dynamics questionnaires. 57 children with behavioral problems and their families were called abnormal behavioral group and were divided into two groups: intervention group (n=20) and abnormal control group (n=37), others (n=219) without behavioral problems and their families were called normal behavioral group as normal control group. 20 families of the intervention group were drawn genograms and were received group systemic family theropy. parents and children were tested again after april. Result: 1. The parents were inconsistent when they were judging whether their children had behavioral problems or not before being intervened. The parents of intervention group became consistent after being intervened but others were inconsistent either. 2. Children's behavioral problems were significantly related to their genograms and family dynamic characteristics; The change of children's behavior problems were also significantly related to the change of family dynamic characteristics. Family atmosphere among the family dynamic factors was found in the multiple linear regressions and was positively correlated with children's behavioral problems. Conclusion: The family factors are related closely to children's behavioral problems. The techniques of systemic family therapy are practical and effective methods to interven children's behavioral problems.
