Objcctive:To investigate the biological mechanism of apricot polysaccharides and PleurotasSapidus in esophageal cancer(Ec) cell line Eca9706, and provide the basis for further lie prevention Methods: The indexes of cell survival, protein content ,the protein expression of Bcl-2/Bax gene and apoptosis were detected in Eca 9706 using MTT Bradford protein content ,lmmunochemical and molecular biology assay after treatment of apricot polysaccharides and Pleurotas Sapidus at concentration of 10-1g/ml, 10-2g/ml, 10-3g/ml. Result: The concentration of 10-1g/ml apricot poiysaccharides and Pleurotas Sapidus showed significant inhibition on both cell survival and protein content in Eca9706 . However, no obvious inhibition in rat normal liver cell line BRL. Immunochemical staining Bax gene was overexpressed . Moreover, Bcl-2 gene expression indicated a tendency to increase. The molecular biology result showed that DNA extracted from treated Eca9706 appeared a smear phenomenon .Conclusion : The concentration of 10-1g/ml apricot polysaccharides and Pleurotas Sapidus could inhibit the proliferation of Eca9706 and present a relation between time and effect. The inhibitive mechanism may be realized by activating anti oncogene Bax to induce apoptosis .In contrast no inhibitive effect was observed in BRL cell.
