| objective To evaluate the effectiveness of zweymueller prothesis in replacing osteoarthritis secondary to congenital dysplasia of the hip. Methods from may. 1997 to September 2003,zweymueller prothesis was used to reconstruct 30 hips in 28 patients with congenital acetabular dysplasia (2 bilateral cases),all patients were female.according to the classification of perner,16 hips belonged to type I ,9type II .5type III. 1 typeIV.the mean follow-up period was 36.4 months(6-65months). the preoperative harris hip score ranged from 24 to 56(average42.6) Results The pain was completely relieveal and the Harris hip score ranged from 78 to 98(average 90) and the stable fixation and better location of the cup couclusion we consider that the Zweymueller total hip arthroplasty provides stable fixation of the cup , the presence of moderate acetabular dysplasia without structure bone grafting or cementing . |
