| Objective: Through carrying on the reviewing research of large sample which is the adhesive intestinal obstruction patient's case historical materials, we could summarize the characteristic of the cases of adhesive intestinal obstruction that accepted for medical treatment in our hospital, and probe into the advantage of therapy of combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine for AIO. Then we could combine the results of literature research to design the effective treatment of combining traditional Chinese and western medicine for AIO, which could carried out by clinical persons easily and its technology is relative normative. So it could offer the previous foundation for the fact that launch the perspective, random comparative study, and offer the reasons for guiding the clinic work and improving clinical curative effect for AIO. Methods : We' 11 take AIO patient's cases history materials which accepted for medical treatment in the Guangdong Province Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine as one group of samples from January, 1994 to January, 2004. We could design the case history questionnaire on the basis of the results of literature research and experts' consultation, and gather the information of the case history. Then we'll sets up the database to include relevant materials through the EPI software, and carry on the statistical analysis of the data in spssll. 0 software package. At last we could design the relatively normal, effective treatment of combining traditional Chinese and western medicine for AIO, and prove further by literature research and experts' consultation. Result : 304 patients of AIO were admitted to Guangdong Province Hospital of TCM altogether in the past ten years.
