Purpose: The aim of the present investigation was, in an immediate-immediate surgical procedure (immediate installation and immediate loading), to access the stability of 4 kinds length implant daring healing and bone remolding, as detected by Periotest device and RFA (Resonance Frequency Analysis). In this study, we also criticize the application of Periotest and RFA in measurement stability of implants. Materials and Methods: 4 kinds of different length fixtures (8. 5, 10, 11. 5, and 13 mm) were inserted and loaded immediately in 5 canines' mandibles after premolars were extracted, the animals were sacrificed at post-loading 1, 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks. At baseline and sacrifice, ISQ (implant stability quotient) by RFA and PTV (Periotest value) by Periotest were measured to evaluate stability of fixtures. One longitudinal ground sections were made for each implant and analyzed under light microscopy for histomorphometry. Results: At baseline, ISQ=65.33 ± 2.87 (8.5 mm); 66.73 ± 3.03 (10 mm); 67.47 ± 5.01 (11.5 mm); 63.80 ± 4.29 (13 mm) and PTV=4. 12±1. 20 (8.5 mm); 4.04 ± 0.48 (10 mm); 4.12 ± 1.09 (11.5 mm); 2.68 ± 2.28 (13 mm), there is no significant difference among groups about ISQ and PTVs. After loading, ISQ was decreased and PTV was increased in the 1st week, from 2nd week to 12th week after loading, ISQ and PTV were gradually increased and decreased respectively. The change of BIC (bone-implant contact) and BA (mineralized bone area) were similar. There were the correlation between PTV and BIC (r=-0. 6327). But there was not correlation between ISQ and BA (r=0.4254), and between ISQ and BIC (r=0.3857), and between PTV and BA (r=-0.4130).Conclusion: ISQ and PTVs are not be influenced by length of implant in immediate-immediate implant procedure. Osseointegration is predictability in immediate-immediate implant procedure if the implant had acceptable primary stability. RFA and Periotest method does not provide a measure of implant osseointegration.
