Purpose: investigating the function of GLUT1 ,p63 and DNA-Pkcs in serous ovarian tumor development and progression is to offer the theories basis for clinical diagnosis and treat of earlier carcinomas as well as gene diagnosis and treat of serous ovarian tumor. Methods: One hundred archival , routinely processed, formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded surgical pathology specimens were examined. These included:20 normal ovarian tissues,20 serous cystadenomas, 20 borderline serous cystadenomas and 40 serous cystadenocarcinomas . GTUL1,p63 and DNA-Pkcs expression at protein level were detected by immunohistochemical technique in patients with serous ovarian tumor .In Chi-square analysis their expression were associated with clinicopathologic characteristics . Result: Normal ovarian tissue cells were non-staining with GTUL1 and p63 antiserum . but all were staining for DNA-Pkcs .the intensity of the expression of GTUT1 and p63 were stronger compared to other subtypes (P<0.01). GTUT1 , p63 in malignant serous tumors of ovary is 100%,93% respectively,but them in borderline serous cystadenomas respectively is 55%,40% respectively. the intensity of the expression of DNA-Pkcs decreased bit by bit, respectively 95%, 90%, 60%(P<0.01).The expression of GLUT-1 and p63 has positive correlation (P<0.01), the expression of GLUT-1 and DNA-PKcs has negative correlation (P<0.01),the expression of p63 and DNA-PKcs has on correlation(P>0.05). GLUT-1expression level was correlated with FIGO stage , intraperitoneal implants,ascites and lymph node metastasis.(P<0.05); p63 expression were associated with clinicopathologic characteristics except ascites(P<0.05); DNA-PKcs only was collected with FIGO stage, lymph node metastasis.(P<0.05). Conclusions: These data suggested that the expression of Glut1 and p63 may be closely related to the malignant transformation of serous ovarian tumors but the loss of DNA-Pkcs may be closely related to the malignant transformation of serous ovarian tumors . It is clear that GTUT1 and p63 are oncogene but DNA-Pkcs is tumor suppressor gene. In a word, Glut1 , p63 and DNA-Pkcs, as the mark of tumors malignant transformation,partake in the generation, developlement, transformation , invading ,transference in serous ovarian neoplasms.
