ObjectiveWe explore the effects of endurance training with different intensity on GLUT4 gene expression in skeletal muscle of diabetic rats. MethodsMale Sprague-Dawley rats were used to this experiment. Thirty-six of rats were subjected to establish diabetic model by injection of streptozotocin. The diabetic rats were divided randomly into six groups: low-intensity training (EL, n=6), high-intensity training (EH, n=6), low-intensity training with insulin injection (LI, n=6), high-intensity training with insulin injection (HI, n=6), control without insulin injection and training (DM, n=6) and control with insulin injection and no training (DI, n=6). Six non-diabetic rats were used as to normal control group without training (CN, n=6). Animals with endurance training were forced to running on motorized treadmill for 8 weeks. The rats with insulin were subcutaneously injected for 8 weeks. Expressions of GLUT4 gene in skeletal muscle were measured by RT-PCR. Result1. The levels of quiet blood glucose in rats with LI decreased...
