Objective To study expression and clinical significance of dendritic cell(DCs),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in esophageal squamous carcinoma(ESC).Methods The expression of DCs and VEGF was detected immunohistochemistrically by SP methods in 80 cases of ESC.Results DCs was expressed in cytoplasm and nuclecus.VEGF was expressed in cytoplasm.Among the different histopathological grade groups ,the expressive intensity of DCs and VEGF were all significantly different; Among the different clinical stage groups, the expressive intensity of DCs and VEGF were all significantly different;Between the two groups of lymph node metastasis or not, the expressive intensity of DCs and VEGF were all significantly different; The expressive intensity of DCs became little, along with the decreased histopathological grades, the increased clinical stages and lymph node metastasis, The expressive intensity of VEGF became strong, along with the decreased histopathological grades, the increased clinical stages and lymph node metastasis. Conclusions The expressive intensity of DCs and VEGF is closely correlated with histopathological grades, the increased clinical stages and lymph node metastasis. It may all be served as the immunohistochemistrically index of evaluating infiltration and metastasis in ESC.
