Objective: To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor-C(VEGF-C) and its receptor in human non-small-cell lung cancer tissue and their paratumour tissue in pursuit of their role in tumor metastasis and other clinical significance. Methods : 36 fresh non-small-cell lung cancer tissue and their paratumour tissue were examined by RT-PCR to detected the VEGF-C/KDR /Flt-4mRNA expression. Results: There was a significant relationship between VEGF-C mRNA and flt-4mRNA expression in paratumour tissue .And there was no significant relationship between VEGF-C mRNA , KDR mRNA or flt-4mRNA expression and tumor metastasis .But COMVEGF-C-3expression was significant associating with the grade of tumor pathology( r_k=0.5057, P=0.0064) and lymph node metastasis (r_k =0.5805,P=0.0008). Conclusion: The result suggest the COMVEGF-C may play an important role in the lymph node metastasis and it could be a useful biological marker to foresee the lymph node metastasis and prognosis .
