AIM: Cerebral vascular is the commen illness that has more complicatemechnism .It is possible for the pathbiological prevetion that the foundationof medical therapy. Radix Astragus has the same function.This experiementaim to dissuss neuronic protection and celluler mechnism through effects ofradix astragus on neuronic apotosis and astrocytesa after acute cerebralischimia atacck. METHODS: The internal carotid artery of rats was occluded for 60 minites withICAO model, The lower dose (3mL/kg),middle dose(5ml/kg)and higherdose (10mL/kg) were under abdominal injection towards every group(10rats per group)30min before operation ,physiological salt solution for othertow groups.To observe neuron change of rats forebrain ,we use 400xmicroscope.To check the mean expression of GFAP and bcl-2 .we useImmunohistochomical method and imagine anylisis technique.To show theprotective function,we observe celluer organ in every groupe with electronmicrograph. RESULTS: From the rough shape, the group of ischimia become obvious edemia,disordered cell, nucler contracted, Nissle Body decreased anddinered,perikaryon disvolved and be small,loss of normal structure.increased mean expression.However, gradually improved ischimia degreefor neron compared the group of astragus with dose,more dose ,moreobvious,that manifest astragus make neuron own much more tolerancetowards ischemia. We find celleluer electronic dentisity increased through electronmicrograph,cell mambrane shinkage, kenal coarse, plastosome intumescene,crest disappear, myelin sheath disvolvement. The group of useage hasincreasing dentisity,dispearing shinkage, no plastosome intumescene, soenergy has become better. The expression of bcl-2 protein in indisposable groupes is the lowestcompared with that strengthened of cerebral ischima group. The mostpowerful expression is the big dose astragus group. So, the result hasexpress radix astragus has obvious neural protection with anti-apoptotic. The expression of GFAP protein in indisposable groupes is lower, theexpression has more obvious increase with increasing dosage,especially thebigger dosage. Conclusion: (1) Adix astragus has obvious neural protection with anti-apoptoticduring the earler time. (2) Adix astragus play role in neural rehabilitition after cerebralischimia with the regulation of glial cell. (3) Adix astragus improve the function of plastosome and lysosome,facilate the energy metabolism,.
