Tendon adhesions have been a boring problem of handsurgern.Despite applying improved suture techniques andnylon stitch, tendon adhesions are unavoidable. Objective:To study the effect of chitosan/PLGA emulsivemembrane on postoperative adhesions in the chickens' flexortendon.Methods:45 chickens were divided into three groupsrandomly,15 each group. The chickens of A group served ascontrols, the deep flexor tendon of the third and forth toes in zoneâ…¡were cut and sutured with a single 6-0 nylon stitch by amodified Kessler technique,Encapsulated PLGA membrane andchitosan/PLGA emulsive membrane in B ,C groupsrespectively.5 chickens from each group were killed at 2,4,6weeks after operation. The results were evaluated grossly ,histologically and biomechanically. Each operated tendon wascompared to the same tendon in the contralateral, nonoperatedfoot. This eliminated the effect of normal restricting mechanismslike vincula and mesothenon. All resuts were fed into a computer...
