Objective By comparing the protective effects on the injuries of hepatic ischemia/reperfusion(I/R) among ischemia-preconditioning(IPC), Atomolan (reduced-Glutathione,r-GSH) preconditioning and the application of both IPC and Atomolan, we may get a further discussion about modulatory mechanism of IPC and Atomolan preconditioning, therefore find a more effective preconditioning. Methods 50 healthy Wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups according to the following ways that before doing hepatic I/R, with Atomolan or without; before doing IPC,with Atomolan or without and controlled group, through the paired experiment we measured rats'serum level of alanine a minotransferase (ALT) and malon dialdehyde (MDA),expression of HSP70 in hepatic tissue was analysed by histochemical technique. Results When Atomolan and IPC are used alone, they each can have a good effect on protecting hepatic I/R injury; The effect of Atomolan is better than IPC in protecting hepatic I/R injury; Atomolan and IPC resist each other when applied together. Conclusion By inhibiting oxygen free radical and neutrophils blocking,Atomolan preconditioning plays an active part in protecting the injuries of hepatic I/R while on the other hand it inhibits IPC to produce HSP70 as well.
