Chemical Constituents, Material Quality And Exploitation Of Sparganium Stoloniferum Buch.-Ham

The root of Sparganium stoloniferum Buch. -Ham. is used quite frequently in the prescription of Chinese medicine. It has been traditionally used for activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis, and relieving pain. It is also used for Gynecological disease such as cardiovascular disease , hysteromyoma and endometriosis, etc. From 1950s, a lot of work has been done including phytochemical and pharmacological investigation. But little progress has been made in the exploitation of it. Recent research shows it has the pharmacodynamic actions of activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis, relieving pain and resisting tumor, suited with its traditionally functions, we conduct a scientific investigation about its chemical constituents, material quality and exploitation, based on the corresponding research..Aim: investigation of chemical constituents, material quality and praeparatum exploitation. Methods: 1. The material was percolated with petroleum ether, ethyl acetate and methanol in order, chromatography was used to isolate compounds from the ethyl acetate and methanol parts .Spectroscopy was used to identify their structure.2. Choosing the total flavone as a quality index, which has the function of activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis, we determinate the material from different areas, or processed with different methods. 3. Choosing the several content index such as astragaloside IV, we investigated the abstraction technology, prepration method and quality index. Result and Conclusion: 1. Ten compounds were isolated and six of them were identified. Among them vanillic acid was isolated from Sparganium stoloniferum Buch.-Ham. for the first time. 2. Quality of the material from different area is basiclly stable. The material stir-fryed with vinegar has a highest content among the differently processed materials. This is suited with tradition and pharmacopoeia, as a theory foundation. 3. In the exploitation of compound preparation, we decided the abstraction technology, prepration method and quality criterion.
