MCP-1 expression, macrophage infiltration and angiogenesis were assessed for comparison. Proangiogenesis factor VEGF were also assessed by immunohistochemisty assay. At the same time, MCP-1 expression, macrophage infiltration and angiogenesis were comparison with clinical pathological characteristics. Results 1 Microvessel counts and macrophage counts were increasing withthe grade of the gatric cancer; As did MCP-1 expression, but only the difference between the poor differentiated group and the well differentiated group of significance.2 MCP-1 expression in tumor cells increased with the depth of tumor infiltration (Tis 0.0%, Tl 16.0%, T2-4 48.0%), as did microvessel counts and macrophage infiltration.3 Microvessel counts and macrophage counts were significantly increased in the lymph node invaded group compared the non-lymph node invaded group; As did MCP-1 expression.4 VEGF was expressed mostly in cancer cells. Compared with VEGF negative group, VEGF positive group had a higher microvessel counts. But the difference of macrophage counts were of no significance. In VEGF positive group, the tumor cells had a higher MCP-1 positive rate.5 Macrophage counts correlates with vessel counts.
