OBJECTIVE To explore biological and psychosocieffects of four ways of hysterectomy on patients.METHODS Sampling four group patients(140例) with uterine fibroids during 2002.1 —2003. 12. Group TH (45 Patients ) with abdominal total hysterectomy ; Group IH (53 patients) with intrafascial hysterectomy ; Group STH (22 patients) with subtotal hysterectomy ; Group VH (20 patients) with vaginal hysterectomy. All the patients' hormone (E2, FSH, LH) level in blood was determined before operation 1 week and after operation in one, three and six months .And they were asked about their sexual life and health with BISF-W (brief index of sexual function for women) and NHP-QOL (Nottingham health poofity—Quality of life) before operation and six months later.RESULTS (1) No significant differences was discovered in E2, FSH and LH level among these four groups. (P>0.05).(2)There was a significant differences in sexual life and moods after four different ways of operation .CONCLUSION (1) Different ways of operation on uterine myoma patients have different psychosocial effects but no significant different effect on ovarian function.(2) Intrafascial hysterectomy and Vaginal hysterectomy are the better ways to improve patients' both sexual function and the quality of life.
