At present clinical still lacked the ideal medicine of gouty arthritis, Clinical and the experimental studies have demonstrated that the Chinese medicine is effective, and has no obvious poisonous and side reaction, Therefore the research of traditional Chinese medicine to prevention and treatment gouty arthritis is worthy. The prophase study of our team shows that the Tongfengning granule had good effect on anti-inflammatory, antioncotic, and analgesic action and the good effect of promoting blood circulation. It is significant to develop the patent medicine that is effective on treating gouty arthritis. On the base of prophase study of our team, the further study is to investigate the effect of Tongfengning granule On XOD, BUN, CR in gouty arthritis hens, and Build thefoundation for this medicine clinical application.Objective: To investigate the effect of Tongfengning granule On XOD, BUN, CR ingouty arthritis hens.and discus the mechanism of Tongfengning granule in preventing and treating gouty arthritis.Methods: After 5 days' adaptable feed,90-day old Hyline hens were fed by forage containing high nucleoprotein ,high calcium and limiting water ingestion to induce gouty arthritis. Allopurinol. benzbromarone, colchicine were used as control. XOD,Blood UA,BUN, Cr, swelling of joint and the quantity of leucocyte in joint fluid were observed.Results:1. 14 days later, the hens of Tongfengning granule prevent group, compared with normalgroup's, had no significant difference in serum UA and weekly of gambrel join (P>0.05),21 days later, the hens of Tongfengning granule prevent group, compared with normal group's, had no significant difference in serum BUN and Cr( P>0.05);2. 21 days later, the hens of Tongfengning granule prevent group, compared with normal group's, had no significant difference in XOD (P>0.05), in hens of Tongfengning granule treat group and Allopurinol treat group, compared with that of model group, had significant difference in the level of serum XOD (P<0.01).3. 21 days later ,in hens of Tongfengning granule treat group, Benzbromarone treat group and Allopurinol treat group, compared with that of model group, the level of serum UA,BUN, Cr declined obviously (P<0.01),but in hens of Colchicine treat group, compared with that of model group, had no significant difference in UA,BUN, Cr (P>0.05);4. 21 days later ,in hens of Tongfengning granule treat group, Colchicine treat group, compared with that of model group, the swelling of gambrel reduced obviously and the quantity of leucocyte in joint fluid also declined obviously (P<0.01),but in hens of Benzbromarone treat group and Allopurinol treat group, compared with that of model group, had no significant difference in the swelling of gambrel reduced obviously and the quantity of leucocyte in joint fluid (P>0.05).Conclusions:1. The granule of Tongfengning can obviously decrease the level of serum XOD in gouty arthritis hens;2. The granule of Tongfengning can obviously decrease the level of BUN, Cr, UA in gouty arthritis hens,and can prevent gouty nephropathy effectivly;3. The granule of Tongfengning can prevent and treat gouty arthritis effectivly in gouty arthritis hens.4. The granule of Tongfengning can obviously alleviate the swelling of gambrel and reduced the quantity If leucocyte in joint fluid of gouty arthritis hens.
