To meet the needs of Traditional Chinese Medicine Modernizationand introduce Chinese Medicine to the world wide, we need to not only change its unitary status of one form and develop more forms other than Pill of Chinese Medicine, but also conduct quantitative analysis of themajor medicine components to control its qualities.The formula of Xihuang Wan comes from the NO.9 of the Ministry-issued standard of Chinese.The major effects of this medicine include heat-clearing and detoxicating drugs,They are chiefly used in the treatment of the carbuncles and boils ,scrofula, ulcers ,cancer,etc. It has a longer use time and leads to more accurate effects.In this research, under the guidance of the traditional Chinese medicinal theory and practice, L₉(3⁴)orthogonal method was designed to screen the extraction procedure of Olibanum and Myrrha components and the production of soft capsules to get the best one. After making Cow-bezoare and musk become the crushed little particles by using the new technique, and results in new form of Traditional Chinese Medicine—Soft Capsules.Quantitative analysis was carried out on Cholic acid and muscone by TLC method and GC method to ensure quality control of Xihuang soft capsules.The method was prove to be simple,precise and reproduciable.It is especially practicable for rapid analysis in production.
