Objective: To investigate the Ultrasound findings of thebenign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) before photon Therapy andpost-treatment and study the clinical value of TransrecctalUltrasound in evaluating Therapeutic Efficacy on photonTherapy for BPH. For the more,To give the objective indexesand consummate the evaluation index system of the curativeeffect on non-operation therapy for BPH.Methods: In order to carry out Prostate photon treatmentsystem irradiation, the active area of the applicator waslocated into rectum in 30 patients with brachytherapy, eachcase was observed by transrectal color Doppler flow imagingpre-treatment and post-treatment for one month and six months. These indexes such as the prostatic volume ,nnergland/extragland thickness ratio and TZI ,the systolicvelocity(VS), RI and diameter of innergland artery weremeasured. Each index data was analyzed statistically bySVSS10.0 and Pearson software. then find the evaluation indexsystem of the curative effect on non-operation therapy for BPHby Ultrasound. Results: After one month and six months treatment , Theprostatic volume ,innergland/extragland thickness ratio andTZI and the systolic velocity(VS), RI and diameter ofinnergland artery were significantly decreased in 27 cases, and 3 cases without change.18 cases were remarkably improved,9 cases were slightly improved on IPSS,QOL,volume of prostategland Qmax and residual urine before and after therapy(besidesQmax P=0.038 , all other are P<0.01) and 3 cases wereineffective. the index correlated well with each other, Thatindicates the prostatic volume , innergland/extraglandthickness ratio and TZI and the innergland hemodynamics iscorresponded with clinical change. Conclusions: The Therapeutic Efficacy of Finaste ride onphoton Therapy for BPH can be evaluated by several objectiveindexes. The prostatic volume,innergland/extragland thicknessratio and TZI are morphology index,The systolic velocity(VS),RI and diameter of innergland artery are hemodynamic index .Good correlation was shown between the objective indexes andsubjective indexes (IPSS,QOL).If they were combined together,it can consummate the evaluation index system of the curativeeffect on non-operation therapy for BPH. We think TRUS cancontribute more quantitative information to evaluate theresults post Therapy for BPH. TRUS is a noninvasive, safe, accurate and repeatable method and is valuable for wide-spreadapplication.
