Background: Several studies have provided data on the vertebralmorphology of normal spines, but there is a paucity of data on thevertebral morphology in patients with idiopathic soliosis with 16multiple spiral CT and multiplanar reformation. Objective: To evaluate the Feasibility and Clinic Values of MPRReformaton in Studying Pedical Morphology of Idiopathic Scoliosis. Methods: A GE Lightspeed-16 CT was used to scan the wholespine of 10 patients of idiopathic scoliosis and the morphology of the240 pedicles with right-sided thoracic idiopathic scoliosis wereanalyzed. Helix scanning mode was used. Slice thickness: 1.25mm/16i.Voltage: 120kv. Current: 139mA. Reconstructive mode: standard.Scanning data were transferred into AW4.1 workstation, VR, MPRwere used to reformat the vertebral column. The images with thelargest cross section area of pedicle on the concave and convex sidewere chosen respectively. the transverse endosteal width and thetransverse periosteum width of pedicles; and measure the distancebetween pedicle axes and the point of intersection to the anteriorborder of vertebral body, as well as the distance between pedicle axesand the point of intersection to the posterior border of vertebral lamina. In the secondary scanning reconstruction images which areperpendicular to the pedicle axes, choose the image with the least...
