Obstructive jaundice is a very common disease caused by variousreasons. The site and causes for obstruction is the key of treatment. There are many kinds of methods for its detection, among whichMDCT plays an important role. CPR is a special two dimensionalreconstruction technique of MDCT. It is difficult to show the wholecourse of a tortuous organ neither in axial nor MPR images in coronal, sagittal and oblique. CPR can display the entire course in a singlepicture by drawing the path. There are seldom reports about theapplication of CPR in biliary and pancreas diseases.Obstructive:To study the clinical value of CPR in patients withobstructive biliary diseases, attempt to provide a convenient, rapid, noninvasive and valuable method.Materials and methods 39 patients with obstructive biliaryunderwent MDCT scans. After scanning, the raw data was reformattedto CPR images along the course of biliary tract or pancreas. Imagequality of axial, MPR, and CPR was scored. Evaluated the degree ofbiliary tree dilation and diagnosed the site and cause of obstructionaccording to axial, axial with MPR, axial with MPR and CPR images, respectively. The value of CPR to axial and MPR images wereassessed as the whole visualization of the lesion location, features, andrelationship to its surrounding structure. The diagnostic value ofultrasonography was also evaluated. Results:No significant differences in image quality were found...
