Economic construction of our country has obtained huge achi-evement since reforms and openings, supplement of nutrition hasbeen more and more taken seriously with the people's life level in-creased and health consciousness enhanced . Trace element is oneof the indispensable nutrition ingredient to the body. Scholars aremore and more attaching importance to the relationship between allkinds of diseases and the trace element with the progress of the testtechnology and innovation of the research method.Hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy(HDCP) is aspecific disease of the gestation and it is the leading cause of peri-natal morbidity and mortality. However the exact pathophysiologi-cal process of HDCP still remains to be unrevealed , so it is veryimportant to study the etiology in order to prevent and cure it .Many domestic and foreign scholars have studied the relationbetween the trace element and this disease . Their studies mainlyfocused on the zinc, copper, calcium and magnesium ,but theirresults were not in coincidence with each other. WHO publish thecorrelation of the trace element in the mammal animal at 1996.According to the correlation we understand that the trace elementzinc, copper and iron influence mutually, iron and manganese areas well. Some domestic and foreign scholars have studied the rela-tion between hypertensive disease and the trace element zinc,cop-per,iron,manganese. Their results revealed that the serum zinc, copper, iron, manganese of the hypertensive patients changedsignificantly . Whereas the relation between HDCP and the mater-nal and the umbilical serum zinc, copper, iron, manganese and theirratios is less reported. So the study on the relation between HDCPand the serum zinc, copper, iron, manganese is very meaningful. Method: In our study , we recruited 47 maternal blood and 44umbilical cord blood of HDCP and 30 maternal and umbilical cordblood of normal controls. The age and week of gestation of HDCPmatched up to the normal controls. The serum zinc, copper, iron, manganese contents were measured with atomic absorption spectr-ophotometry(fire atomization)and plumbaginous stove. the datawere control analyzed with spss software. Result: 1)The severe pre-eclampsia(SPE)serum zinc is sig-nificantly lower than the normal control group between SPE groupand the mild pre-eclampsia(MPE)compared with the normal con-trol group(P<0.05).There is no statistical difference between theSPE umbilical cord serum zinc and the MPE umbilical cord serumzinc compared with the normal control group(P>0.05).In the com-parison of the maternal and umbilical cord serum zinc of HDCP ,the umbilical cord serum zinc is significantly higher than the mate-rnal serum zinc(P<0.01).2)There is no significant difference of the maternal serum copperin the comparison between the HDCP group and the control group(P>0.05). There is also no significant difference of the umbilicalcord serum copper in the comparison between the HDCP group andthe control group(P>0.05). In the comparison of the maternal andumbilical cord serum copper of HDCP ,the maternal serum copperis extremely higher than the umbilical cord serum copper(P<0.01).3)The SPE maternal serum iron is higher than the control in thecomparison between the HDCP group and the control group(P<0.05). There is no statistical difference of the umbilical cordserum iron in the comparison between the two groups(P>0.05).The umbilical cord serum iron is higher than the maternal serumiron in the comparison between the maternal and the umbilical cordserum iron of the HDCP(P<0.05,0.01).4)There is no significant difference in the comparison between notonly the maternal serum manganese and the control, the umbilicalcord serum manganese and the control, but also the maternal andthe umbilical cord serum manganese of the HDCP group(P>0.05)5)There is no significant difference in the ratio comparison betw-een the HDCP maternal serum Cu/Zn and the normal control(P>0.05). The maternal Fe/Cu ratio of the SPE is extremely higher thanthe control(P<0.01)and the maternal Fe/Cu ratio of the MPE issignificantly lower than the control(P<0.01)in the comparisonbetween the two groups . The maternal serum Fe/Zn ratio of theSPE significantly higher than the control(P<0.01)between the twogroups . The maternal serum Fe/Mn ratio of the SPE is extremelyhigher than the control(P<0.01)and serum Fe/Mn ratio of the MPEis lower than the control(P<0.05). Conclusion:â‘ The decrease of the serum trace element zinc ,the elevation of the serum iron and the imbalance of the serum zinccopper, iron and manganese are perhaps associated with the gener-ation of HDCP and severity of HDCP.â‘¡In the normal or pathophy-siological state, the body meet the requirement of the zinc, copper, iron and manganese to the fetus first ! Our research aimed to study the relationship between HDCPand serum trace element zinc, copper, iron and manganese. ourinvestigation have proper number of example , the operations con-form to the requirement , the instruments are advanced in the world, experiment data are true and statistical methods are correct .In thewhole ,our experiment result are reliable and scientific . our resea-rch revealed that the generation and severity of HDCP is perhapsassociated with the decrease of the serum zinc ,the elevation of theserum iron and the imbalance of the serum zinc, copper, iron andmanganese. However , the pathogenesis of HDCP is complex andelusive, how the zinc, copper, iron and manganese function speci-fically ? Is other trace element associated with HDCP ? All theseneed us to further study in the future. The relationship between HDCP and the trace element hasbeen studying which will provide a wide pathway to clarify the bio-chemistry mechanism of HDCP and will contribute to the preventi-on,diagnose and treatment of HDCP.
