Objective The experience of surgical treatment for myasthenia gravis(MG) was reviewed in this report from 1984 to 2004. To evaluate the long-termoutcome and relevant factors of thymectomy for myasthenia gravis(MG) by anal yzing patientsdata. Methods 109 patients with MG operated between May 1984 and 2004 were reviewed. The results of operation were classified in to 4 grades:remission,improvement (efficiency includes remissi onand improvement),no change, and deterioration.The relativity between the long -term outcome and the factors of age,sex,theserum titer of AchR antibodies,dur ation of disease,pathological classification of thymus, modified osserman classi fication, andfollow-up period was analyzed by logistic and χ~2 test.
