Objective To estabalish an animal model of acute pulmonary thromboembolism(APTE) and to explore the mechanism of interventional therapy and evaluate the role of different methods in the treatment of APTE through compare the efficacy of fragmentation of thrombus with thrombolysis therapy and fragmentation combinding with thrombolysis. Materials and Methods 24 healthy hybrid swine, weight 20-36kg, were randomly divided into contrast group (A group), mechanical fragmentation group (B group), thrombolysis group (C group), mechanical fragmentation combinded with thrombolysis group (D group) according to randomized blocks design. The APTE model was established by injection of thrombus made in vitro through jugular vein. The mean pulmonary artery pressure (MPAP) was measured and angiography was made to evaluate the model. Different procedures were applied to each group. The MPAP and angiography were analyzed pretreatment and posttreatment and also one month later in order to evaluate the differences among treatments. Results The APTE model was established successfully in 23 out of 24 swine. The MPAP rapidly rised from 9. 62±0. 28mmHg to 36. 71 ±6. 38mmHg after modeling (p< 0.01) and decreased in variant degree after different treatment. The decreased data of MPAP of A group, B group, C group and D group was 3. 40 ±1.02mmHg, 14. 17 ± 4.31 mmHg, 8. 67 ± 2. 73mmHg, 17.67 ± 1.86 mmHg respectively after treatment and was 13. 43 ± 6. 55mmHg, 25. 90 ± 7. 06 mmHg, 22. 97 + 2. 95mmHg...
