Objective To observe the immunoregulative effects of Cordyceps sinensis on cell-mediated immunity, humoral immune functions and the level of cytokines of patients with chronic obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD) .At the same time, the effects of Cordyceps sinensis on pulmonary function, P0.1, PO2, PCO2, quality of life and six-minute walking distance(6MWD) of patients with chronic obstructive Pulmonary disease were also observed. Methods The levels of serum immunoglobulin (Ig) ,cytokines including interleukin-6 (IL-6) ,interleukin-8 (IL-8) and interleukin-12 (IL-12) were measured in 30 patients with the exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who were slected at random, at the same time, pulmonary function, P0.1, PO2, PCO2, quality of life and six-minute walking distance were also measured, and the measurements were repeated after 6 weeks of treatment with Bailing Capsule. 20 healthy people were in the control group. Results IgG, IL-12 in patients with the exacerbation of COPD was significantly lower and the levels of IL-8 was significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.01 , P<0.05 and P<0.01) , but no significant difference in IgA , IgM, IL-6 between COPD group and...
