A Study Of The Immunoregulative Effect Of Cordyceps Sinensis On Patients With Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Objective To observe the immunoregulative effects of Cordyceps sinensis on cell-mediated immunity, humoral immune functions and the level of cytokines of patients with chronic obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD) .At the same time, the effects of Cordyceps sinensis on pulmonary function, P_0.1, PO₂, PCO₂, quality of life and six-minute walking distance(6MWD) of patients with chronic obstructive Pulmonary disease were also observed.Methods The levels of serum immunoglobulin (Ig) ,cytokines including interleukin-6 (IL-6) ,interleukin-8 (IL-8) and interleukin-12 (IL-12) were measured in 30 patients with the exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who were slected at random, at the same time, pulmonary function, P_0.1, PO₂, PCO₂, quality of life and six-minute walking distance were also measured, and the measurements were repeated after 6 weeks of treatment with Bailing Capsule. 20 healthy people were in the control group. Results IgG, IL-12 in patients with the exacerbation of COPD was significantly lower and the levels of IL-8 was significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.01 , P<0.05 and P<0.01) , but no significant difference in IgA , IgM, IL-6 between COPD group and...
